Former resident; pharmaceutical executive
Terence E. McMorrow, formerly of Needham, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City. He was 51.
Born in Boston, he was a son of Patricia McMorrow and the late Eugene McMorrow. He was a graduate of Needham High School and Boston College. Mr. McMorrow went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago, where he met his future wife. The couple married in 1980.
Mr. McMorrow began his business career at the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, then moved to Chicago in 1984 to join G.D. Searle, a pharmaceutical company headed by Donald Rumsfeld.
He became chief financial officer of Searle in Canada, headquartered outside of Toronto, and, later, Houghton Pharmaceuticals, a small biotech company in San Diego. He moved to Wilton, Conn., in 1998 upon joining Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. as vice president of finance.
Mr. McMorrow and his family attended the Wilton Congregational Church. He was a member of the church team serving Manna House in Norwalk, Conn.
He was especially devoted and encouraging to his children, age 19, 15 and 11, at the time of his death.
He leaves his wife, Carol (Bogard) McMorrow; three daughters, Allison, Anna and Bonnie; his mother; a sister, Kathleen McMorrow of Needham; and four brothers, Brian McMorrow of Framingham, Stephen McMorrow of Melrose, Kevin McMorrow of Norwood and Barry McMorrow of Norfolk.
His memorial service was held Saturday, March 31, at the Wilton Congregational Church.
Burial in the Boston area will be scheduled later in the spring.
