Katherine Elizabeth "Kat" Dewey, 69, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on June 5, 2024 after a brief illness. She was born on April 12, 1955, in Newton, MA, to the late John (Jack) Dewey and Patricia Dewey.

Devoted sister of Stephen Dewey and his wife, Stephanie, of Needham, MA, and John Dewey and his wife, Ellen, of Hanover, MA, as well as her nephews and niece: Christoper Dewey of Johnston, RI, Brian Dewey of Trumbull, CT, Kevin Dewey of Franklin, MA, Christine Dewey Andre of Sterling, MA, Eric Dewey of Hanover, MA, William Dewey of Newton, MA, and Stephen Dewey of Hanover, MA.

Kat will be fondly remembered by her cherished friends, Paul Thomas Sciblia, Alison Royal, Elizabeth Owen, Brian Martinson, Mark Bassett, and Jo Redman.

Kat was an intelligent, spiritual, outgoing, and caring individual. She dedicated her career to helping others as a social worker and later in life as a home health assistant. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, camping, and spending time with her pets.

Kat attended Needham, MA High School, Cape Cod Community College in Hyannis, MA, and the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

A celebration of Kat's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Suncoast Humane Society in Englewood, FL by visiting https://humane.org.
